Meet Carlos Rueda
Carlos Rueda, an animator and filmmaker from Guadalajara (born in 1999), began his career at an early age with the short film "Anomalía", winner of the 2018 Jalisco State Short Film Contest. He studied Film and Animation at CAAV, where he directed "Problemas", a short that premiered at the Piriápolis de Película festival.
His most recent project, "La carretera de los perros", explores the issue of animal abuse and abandonment. The film has received various recognitions, including an honorable mention at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG 39) and a nomination for Best School Animated Short at the Quirino Awards for Ibero-American Animation. He is currently developing new projects that blend 3D animation and visual effects (VFX) as storytelling tools to raise awareness of social issues.
